Blog Readers

After viewing a few feed readers I narrowed it down to three. I download the apps to my phone in order to test them out for a few days. Feedly, NewsBlur and Panda were the three I analyzed closely. Ultimately, I chose the RSS reader Feedly. Feedly is very friendly user, I enjoyed that it was simple and easy to use. The app shows the most current articles and blogs that I chose to follow and to view the next blog or article, you only need to swipe or scroll up. NewsBlur is a great RSS feeder but lacked the simplicity as Feedly offered. Panda allows users to customize the way they view content, which is a wonderful feature but the app was not very appealing as the Feedly app. Panda only had two columns that features popular and latest articles but I had a hard time trying to figure out how to add my own blogs and articles. The blogs I chose to follow include:
-          This blog includes information about technology that can be used in the library, reading summer list, media resources for librarians. I chose to follow this blog because I would like to stay up to date on resources to use in the library and how to integrate technology.
-          This blog resembles the Pinterest layout which was really appealing to me. The blog features books that are appropriate for an elementary librarian. I chose to follow this blog because it include a variety of books that are great to share with teachers and students.
-          This blog includes how to information about library centers, organization tips, strategies for librarians and so much more. I chose this blog because it includes information that I would like to incorporate into my own library, also the author of this blog lives in my hometown!
-          This blog incudes Library lesson plans, library resources, technology integration ideas and literature recommendations for the Elementary Librarian. I chose this blog because as a new librarian this blog will be a great resource to have when looking for lesson and resources.
-          This blog features children books, particularly picture books. This is a great resource to access when searching for books for the library.
This is my tumblr.
